Hi Dr Karpman, I hope that everything is working fine for you and your family and that
you keep on being an excellent doctor. I wanted to let you know that thanks to the
surgery you performed on me, everything went smoothly and my wife got pregnant 4
months after that. Thanks to your excellent skills my baby (Gael) was born on the 29th
of May 2008. He was born with excellent health even though he spent 34 weeks in my
wife’s belly!
Now he’s growing surprisingly fast! It was thanks to you Dr. Karpman and to your
kindness that last year, with a simple phone call, you were able to give me all the
information I needed. Four other doctors I consulted could only give me a success rate
of 30%, whereas you reassured me with a 99.9% rate. And it was definitely true!
I would like to tell to all those couples who are in a similar situation to talk to Dr.
Karpman.
Do not hesitate to ask him any kind of question you might have about vasectomy
reverse, and he will definitely find a solution for your specific needs.
In conclusion I would like to emphasize the level of professionalism, responsibility and
ethics that Dr. Karpman shows in his work. I personally consider him one of those

My wife Cathy and I married several years ago, already in our late 30's. We knew
from the very start of our relationship that we wanted to have children. The only
obstacles to having a child were our increasing age and my vasectomy.
I had had a series of bladder problems in the late '90s was scheduled to have an
exploratory procedure in 2001. My physician suggested that it would be possible
for me to have a vasectomy performed during the procedure. At that time I was
single, had never been married, and liked the idea of security a vasectomy would
give me.
Unfortunately, the exploratory procedure and the vasectomy led to post operative
bleeding and a massive infection. I was debilitated for months and there was an
unknown amount of scarring as a result of the infection at the surgical site.
Seven years later, sure we wanted to have a child, Cathy and I began researching
our options. We considered adoption and IVF, but decided that those would be the
options we would turn to if we could not conceive a child "In the normal fashion".
We researched the different ways vasectomy reversals are currently performed.
We discovered that not all Vasectomy reversals are equal and not all Doctors are
equally qualified to perform the procedure. We considered several options,
including medical tourism and a trip to India or Canada to have the procedure
done. Deciding instead to stay in the states, we considered surgeons in San
Diego, L.A., Monterey and the Bay area.
Then we met Dr. Karpman. I had called several Urologists in the Bay area and his
name came up a couple of times as someone to consider. We looked at his
website and were encouraged by the amount of detailed information he provides
there and by the fact that it is in clear straight forward language. I talked to Dr.
Karpman first during a phone consultation and was impressed enough that I went
ahead and scheduled an appointment to come into his office.
Dr. Karpman's office, near El Camino Hospital, was pleasant and the staff were
very efficient and professional. Cathy came with me for the examination and Dr.
Karpman was happy to answer her questions and include her in the decision
making as well. After the exam, Dr. Karpman sat down with the two of us and
described the Vasovasostomy and Epdimovasostomy procedures and how he
would decide which was appropriate during the surgery.
We were now confident enough in Dr. Karpman that Cathy and I decided to go
ahead and have him perform the surgery. The procedure took place at the El
Camino outpatient surgery center. Again, the staff working with Dr. Karpman was
very professional and made sure that I knew what was happening each step of the
way. Dr. Karpman came in before the surgery to see how I was doing and to
answer any last questions.
After the surgery the staff was always close by to make sure I was comfortable.
Dr. Karpman came in after the surgery to report on how things had gone and on
what he had found. It turns out that the left over scarring wasn't severe and he
easily worked around it.
Recovery was quick, with the first day after the procedure being the most
uncomfortable, and then my recovery was rapid and I was free of discomfort
within the week.
I'm happy to say that my wife Cathy and I conceived a child within 90 days of the
surgery. I know we got the best possible outcome, and I credit Dr. Karpman for
being a big part of that. Dr. Karpman has my highest confidence and I will
recommend him without hesitation to anyone needing a vasectomy reversal or
Urologist of the highest caliber.
